At the request of the WYBG, WYBN will participate in the 2nd Arab Forum for Renewable Energy (Egypt). WYBN will attend to proactively advance and support our Mission through our NGO mandate of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). These include Youth Employment, Infrastructure Development, Energy-Efficiency, and Health and Culture Projects. We will be introducing 5 such sector-development projects envisioned as part of the Mediterranean sustainable development focus. Our co-affiliate, World Youth Bank at the direction of the WYBG, will provide syndicated project-finance portfolio establishment.
The 2nd Arab Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RE & EE): Enhancing the Role of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Promoting RE & EE

In light of the challenging discourse surrounding Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) job creations and the related role of SMEs, and building on the strategic directives of a number of events organized by the League of Arab States (LAS), the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) calling for strengthening the sustainability of the energy sector as a driver for sustainable development, ESCWA, LAS, Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy (MOERE), and RCREEE are jointly organizing the 2nd Energy Forum for RE & EE, on 18- 19 June 2014, in cooperation with the European Union (EU) project “Mediterranean Energy Efficiency in the Construction Sector project-MEDENEC”, to explore the role that SMEs can play in sustainable energy development in the Arab region as well as the technical, institutional, financial and legislative instruments that can encourage the engagement of SMEs in these fields.
This Forum on RE and EE intends to provide a platform for dialogue among various stakeholders including senior policy-makers, international and regional experts in the sustainable Energy field and green economy, SMEs professional associations, RE and EE technology suppliers, financial institutions and other relevant stakeholders. The objective is to exchange their experiences in these fields and identify potential cooperation partnerships. The Forum will address the role that SMEs can play in advancing the RE and EE fields in the Arab region and address the financial, legal and institutional mechanisms needed to instigate /reinforce this role.
